• 1.Does the BMS limit charge current?

    LILEAD 12V/24V lifepo4 battery BMS do not limit the charging current. Well, nearly all 12V/24V lifepo4 batteries standard charger, their charging model is CC (constant current) to CV (constant voltage). CC charge stage, the charge current is determined by charger, when battery volt reached 14.4V-14.6V, charge mould turn into CV charge. At CV charge stage, the charge volt is constant and charge current keep decreasing till battery fully charged.

    You can use any standard 12V/24V LiFePO4 battery charger, solar or wind charge controller to charge LILEAD 12V/24V lithium batteries. LILEAD 12V/24V lithium batteries can also be charged by ship/RV alternators.

  • 4.What is the rate of discharge and how does it affect the capacity of the battery?

    The rate of discharge is how fast you are pulling power from a battery. It’s important to take this into account as most lead acid batteries have a 20-hour rate. That means the advertised capacity in amp hours is based on the fact that you will pull the power out slowly over 20 hours. If you discharge the battery in 5 hours, you will get less energy out of the battery than you would at 20 hours. Take the very best 60Ah brand new AGM battery as example, 20 hours rate capacity is 60Ah, which is 3A discharge. The battery 25A discharge capacity is only 50Ah.   • 5.What is a battery cycle?

    A cycle is the process of fully charging and discharging a battery. Typically, lead acid batteries cannot be cycled below 50% depth of discharge. If you go lower than 50% you can significantly shorten the lifespan of the battery. LILEAD 12V/24V lifepo4 batteries can be discharged nearly 100% for 2000 cycles without shortening their lifespan.

  • 6.What is depth of discharge (DOD) and how does it affect a battery?

    When a battery is discharged, the amount of energy taken out will determine the depth at which it was discharged. If you have a 12V 100Ah lithium battery and used 50 Ah, you have discharged the battery 50% (which means the depth of discharge is 50%). If a 12V 100Ah lithium battery and discharged it only 20 Ah, or 20% of the battery, your depth of discharge will be 20%. This is an important number to keep in mind. Depending on which type of battery you are using, the number of cycles will vary based on your depth of discharge. Most lead acid batteries experience a significantly reduced cycle life if they are discharged more than 50%. That can result in less than 300 total cycles.   • 8.Do I have to buy a special charger for LILEAD 12V/24V LiFePO4 batteries?

    LILEAD 12V LiFePO4 battery prefers to bulk charge at 14.4V to 14.6 volts and float at 13.6 volts. LILEAD 24V LiFePO4 battery prefers to bulk charge at 28.8V to 29.2 volts and float at 27.2 volts. Most standard lifepo4 battery chargers can handle these settings.

    Lead acid battery manufacturers will state: “do not mix old and new batteries. As LiFePO4 battery performance decline in -20℃(68°F)and can’t take charge below 0℃(32°F), LILEAD dual-purpose 12V/24V lifepo4 battery may not perform so well in freezing weather, but battery performance can recover if environment temperature increasing.

  • 12.What is the maximum amperage I can charge LILEAD batteries at?

    LILEAD 12V/24V lithium batteries used Liquid silver tech and EV battery pack technology, so each LILEAD 12V/24V lithium battery allow a charge rate of 100 amps for each battery, including LILEAD S2450, 24V50Ah battery. For LILEAD 12V lithium batteries, max charge volt is 14.6V. For LILEAD 24V lithium batteries, max charge volt is 29.2V. If LILEAD batteries are parallel connected, battery max charge current can be 100A* parallel quantity.   • 21.What’s the difference between series and parallel connection?

    There are two different ways of connecting batteries together to make a larger battery bank. 1.Parallel Connections – These connections are used when you want to increase the battery capacity, amperage of your battery bank. The connections on this type of battery go from positive to positive and negative to negative, when you connect this way, you double your battery capacity, amps etc. 2.Series Connections – This type of connection is used when you need to increase the voltage of your battery bank. The connections in this type of battery bank are different than parallel. Your batteries will be connected from positive to negative, linking the batteries together to increase the voltage of your battery bank.
